UNISAME SETS UP HELP DESK UNDER EXPERTS

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises ( UNISAME) has set up a support desk for facilitating the SMEs who can avail the services of the experts in finance, law, commerce and information technology.

UNISAME arranges for best finance for SMEs through commercial banks, leasing companies, joint ventures and government schemes for subsidized finance. Those desiring collaboration under CEPEC are also welcome to contact the union.

SMEs can obtain finance for imports, exports, manufacturing or trading under collateral management by expert collateral management companies. The forum has on its panel logistics companies with warehousing facilities who provide warehouse to warehouse facilities under collateral managers and banking facilities with commercial banks.

UNISAME also arranges for insurance covers for SMEs and is also in a position to obtain guarantees for the entrepreneurs through insurance companies.

Those SMEs desirous of obtaining land for industrial purposes can also contact the union for land in industrial estates and SEZs.

UNISAME also offers marketing support for SMEs desirous of exporting their goods to global markets. SMEs not in a position to export can request UNISAME to export for them and also teach them how to export to enable them to export themselves whenever they are ready.

UNISAME has arrangements for trade marks, intellectual property , patents registration and its protection and offers services to SMEs for filing applications and obtaining trade marks and protecting their rights.

The Union also has arbitration facilities for disputes, complaints and petitions for the aggrieved SMEs.

Zulfikar Thaver president UNISAME said SMEs are advised to avail opportunities for setting up new units for foodstuffs as imports have become costly and it is best time to set up new units especially in Sindh with financial cost support from Sindh Enterprise Development Fund(SEDF).
