The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) felicitated the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) on its significant role in the prime ministers (PM) Youth Loan Scheme (YLS) and expressed satisfaction that it would pave the way for future schemes of self employment and income generation for the youth.
Presient UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said that the CEO of SMEDA stated that “It gives me great pleasure to share the progress and achievements of SMEDA in developing and implementing the Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loans scheme. SMEDA was taken on board by the Government as one of the Steering Committee Members of the PM’s Youth Business Loans scheme and has been working proactively as an integral partner for its implementation.”
He said SMEDA has played a pivotal role in developing Information Resources and Tools for guidance and facilitation of loan applicants. He said SMEDA is fortunate to have a very able CEO in Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera and after having read the report sent by the CEO he expressed great satisfaction in the manner and system formulated by SMEDA in the execution of the scheme.
Thaver said the YLS is indeed a very good scheme and very encouraging for the youth and urged the government to ensure that the loans are disbursed in time on merit.
UNISAME urged the government to encourage poultry, sheep farming, fishing and horticulture under special schemes and allocate land for promotion of these vocations under supervision of private public institutions.
