Traders urged to install security alarm systems

Karachi, The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has urged the SMEs to install collective alarm monitoring systems for security and to combat situations of breaking-in by robbers and gangsters in their houses and units.

President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver warned the SMEs that the law and order situation is getting from bad to worst and whilst the big entrepreneurs can afford to keep personal guards for themselves and their factories, residences and vehicles the SMEs cannot afford expensive security services and therefore advised to install security alarm systems.

He urged them to install monitoring alarm systems amongst themselves between factories and houses forming a chain security system whereby when one unit presses the alarm button, the bell rings in the whole chain seeking help and support of one another collectively.

Secondly he mentioned that some alarm monitoring security companies are offering affordable packages of around Rs 1500 per month and installing cameras and panic buttons systems and he considered it necessary for the purposes of safety and security to install the help buttons.

He warned the members to keep their entrance doors locked in their houses and factories and not allow entrance to visitors before identification.
Thieves and robbers are impersonating as officials and entering premises for stealing.

The union has also urged the various housing authorities to sharpen their vigilance squads and keep an eye on suspicious movements of persons and vehicles in their respective societies.
