SME PARBOIL RICE EXPORTER SELECTED AS SUPPLIER TO KFC

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) felicitated its SME member SZT Corporation for being selected as suppliers of Pakistani super basmati parboiled rice to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) for the year 2014 for its restaurants in Egypt.

President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said it is indeed an honour for an SME firm to be selected as suppliers in the face of tough competition.
Pakistani super basmati parboiled rice is tasty, cooks very well and is aromatic. Besides it is extra long and after cooking its length increases one and a half times.

He advised the parboil plants to be extra careful and ensure that the paddy is well dried before parboiling.

Thaver also advised the SME rice processors to improve their packing, polishing and modernize their plants with computerized sorting machines.

There are many parboiling plants in Punjab and Sindh who are doing good business as there is regular domestic and overseas demand and most of the units have modern plants.
