UNISAME EXPORT HOUSE (UEH) has informed all its members of the availability of parboiled rice of Irri 6,
KS 282,9,386, super fine, Super Basmati and 1121 prepared by par boiling plants for export to global destinations.
UEH has formed a syndicate under the group leadership of SZT Corporation of rice growers, millers, par boilers and processors and encouraged them to reopen their parboil plants to meet the requirements of overseas buyers.
UEH is pleased to announce that parboiled rice of all varieties would be available and regular supplies ensured and advised rice exporters to book orders for prompt shipments in containers.
The parboiling plants were shut down in Sindh due to high cost of production which disabled the par boilers and they shifted to white rice but UEH took the initiative and made arrangements to revive the Sindh parboiling industry once again. Many par boilers of Punjab regularly purchase the paddy from Sindh and parboil the rice in their plants as they have modern machinery for parboiling.
The Sindh parboiling units have been closed for more than 2 years but closing of units is no answer to meeting the challenge and UEH has motivated them to reopen their plants and assured them of regular business from the gulf and middle east countries.
The UEH has urged the par boilers to maintain quality and ensure standards of paddy drying and moisture control systems. The UEH has also urged the processors to electronically sort the par boiled rice to eliminate the black grains and polish the rice and pack the grains in attractive packing for super store chains.
