Logistics Badly Affected Due To Red Sea Crisis…Financial Daily 27/12/23

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) foresees a tough situation in Red Sea and Suez Canal due to which the freight rates have increased too much making it unaffordable for the buyers.
Hussain Ali, convener Unisame Logistics committee said freight rates have increased by 150% to 200%. An Operational Recovery Surcharge for sectors Europe, USA and Africa has been levied.
This is very alarming as exports will be badly affected he cautioned and shortage will be created.
He said exports of kinoo also will be effected due to increase in transit time of 40 to 45 days…

President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said Red Sea is showing red signals and has become a danger zone. He called upon the world leaders to put an end to the war between Israel and Hamas and save precious lives, properties and trade.
Thaver also called upon the United Nations to intervene in the name of saving humanity from unbearable massacre of innocent lives of men, women and children and their camps and hospitals which are unlike any war which is always between the armed forces only and where the unarmed are never attacked or targeted. but may be war risk surcharge may be levied.
