SMEs NEED REP AT FPCCI TO VOICE THEIR CONCERNS….The Financial Daily 13/12/23

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) needs an SME patron in the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCC&I) and has urged all small traders and SME associations who are on the voters list of the FPCC&I to vote and support Rafique Suleman who is a patron of SMEs since many years and has always advocated the cause of SMEs in different forums.
As chairman of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) he has always protected and facilitated the SME rice exporters.
President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said irrespective of his belonging or not belonging to any group, Unisame has selected Rafique Suleman purely on merit. He said that they believe an office bearer is needed in the FPCC&I who can voice the concerns of the majority micro to medium sized sector (MSME) and has fair knowledge of the contribution of the sector to the economy.
Thaver elaborated that most of the chambers of commerce and industries have taken cognisance of the fact the SME sector has the potential to turn around the economy if given level playing field and supported, encouraged, facilitated and helped.
The UNISAME Council members in a meeting with Rafique Suleman who is contesting the forthcoming elections for vice president ( VP) of the apex body have found in him the passion, the know how and the calibre to protect their rights and work for their uplift on modern lines adopted by many countries.
The council members reiterated that the SMEs need finance at affordable rate, uninterrupted energy at affordable rate, facilities for modernization, land under pay as you earn scheme and transfer of technology, collaboration, joint ventures sponsored by the chambers of commerce and industries under the guidance of FPCC&I.
Rafique Suleman has promised to establish an SME uplift desk at FPCC&I if elected as VP of the esteemed apex body.
