UNISAME MULLS TO SET UP BUREAU LIKE ‘ BETTER BUSINESS’ IN PAKISTAN ….THE FINANCIAL DAILY 05/02/2021.

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) in its council meeting resolved to set up the like of “Better Business Bureau (BBB)”as in USA and some other countries of the world on the same pattern and style under private public partnership.
President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said we felt the need for this type of a bureau because of many complaints coming from buyers of goods and services against poor quality, substandard goods, late deliveries and failure to perform as per contracts. Also fake and counterfeit goods.
He said we have sought partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority ( SMEDA) and also of Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority ( PSQCA) and have also given intimation of our plan to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Ministry of Commerce ( MINCOM) and we will form partnership with either of them who comes forward and offers best participation terms.
Thaver said the intended bureau will give membership to only those SMEs and also big manufacturers, traders, farmers and services providers who meet the international or high approved certified local standards and enter into a firm written commitment to give their customers their moneys worth in terms of quality, standards, after sales service and customer care with efficiency and commitment. Timely deliveries and money back guarantee if goods or services found inferior or substandard than promised.
and not strictly according to the specifications.
The member of the bureau will get a tag only after inspection of the unit and its adherence to standards and related benchmark.
The bureau will have complaints windows and if any member fails to satisfy the customer who complaints against poor performance, the bureau will take action against the seller and ensure the buyer is compensated either by refund, replacement or damages as the case may be.
The membership and tag of the bureau will reflect the worthiness, reliability and credibility of the seller and will give a sense of comfort and guarantee to the buyer.
UNISAME will frame the rules, procedures and regulations with the help and support of the institution with which it forms partnership.
