UNISAME CONSIDERS ITSELF FORTUNATE TO HAVE FAISAL KHOKAR AS MENTOR

Zulikar Thaver president of the Union o Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) is looking forward to meeting Faisal Khokhar Director/Focal Person Prime Minister’s Initiatives on Housing, Tourism and Rural Transformation Fund on 27th March 2019 at Unisame House Karachi.
Thaver said Faisal Khokar is working hard on “Investment promotion and facilitation with focus on “Science of Implementation.” His interest is in developing an effective support system for Small Businesses and SMEs in Pakistan. He has expertise in the development and management of Special Economic Zones (SEZ). He has Worked at all the levels in the public sector from Federal to Provincial down to Local level.
Thaver said it is our good fortune to welcome Faisal Khokar who has rich experience in coordinating high value projects and has worked on ‘Silk Route Business Center’ and proposals with US based companies, also on establishing ‘International Small Business Chamber of Commerce.’ We are indeed looking forward to working closely with him for the benefit of the sector.
Faisal has remained involved in Policy making as well as Policy implementation, worked on ‘Special Economic Zone Act 2012’ at BOI. Afterwards helped Govt. of Sindh to establish Pakistan’s first Agribusiness Special Economic Zone (K-SEZ), along with a ‘Market’ having combined investment of $ 10 Million. These Agribusiness projects are expected to generate thousands of jobs (many more indirectly along the supply and demand chain). Thaver said whilst introducing him to the members.
The spirit behind development of these agribusiness projects is to incentivize backward integration to become part of ‘Global Value Chains (GVC)’ said Faisal in a message on his profile.
Faisal is committed to Research and development, he did his second Masters in Governance (first in Economics) during 2007-2008 from Royal Holloway College, University of London United Kingdom and received British Council Chevening scholarship. Believes in life-long-learning and continuous professional development.
Thaver said we are proud of Faisal Khokar and look forward to his guidance and
mentorship for setting up the first private sector SEZ in Sindh.
In pursuance of its meetings with the Secretary Investment, Public Private Partnership (PPP), Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF), SMEDA, SEZ and Logix, the Small and Medium Industrial Leasing Estates Pvt Ltd with the support of UNISAME is all set to apply for the first private sector SEZ in Sindh
